Works in a station designated by the Head Sommelier and approved by the Restaurant Manager and follows the daily schedule, which is posted weekly in the wine cellar. Responsible for selling beverage during meal hours in Main Dining Rooms or designated venue and provides overall beverage service. This position will also assist the wait staff with selling of wines during dinner service in the Main Dining Rooms and provides overall wine service. Must possess technical skills to perform basic math and computer tasks (Word, Excel, and Email).The Wine Steward is responsible for the entire onboard wine program to include sales, inventory and proper requisitioning procedures.Ability to lift items weighing up to 60 lbs.Be able to perform all other physical aspects of the position including but not limited to bending, squatting, standing, lifting at a height of 5 feet, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking.Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve and work with minimal supervision.Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management and subordinates in a professional manner.The Wine Steward is required to work the scheduled work shift as needed to meet the needs of the store guests and team members.Minimum of 2 years’ experience in wine industry knowledge preferred.Perform other duties assigned by upper management.Demonstrate good conflict management skills.Make sure all tags are properly placed and in good condition.Maintain stock levels keep the shelves full of ad merchandise and items kept in back stock.Approve all purchase orders and maintain adequate levels.Oversee inventory process and reporting.Verify all books and manuals are kept updated.Coach and discipline team members as necessary in accordance with policy and procedures with support from Talent Management.Verify team member schedules against business needs.Direct meetings with the department leadership team to effectively plan production and promotion goals.
